THE OWNERS – Quinn & Samantha Bible

In 1944, a local Kroger grocery store opened its doors off of the north side of the Louisville, Illinois square. Fast forward to 2016 where the keys now lie with us, Quinn and Samantha Bible. At twenty-two years old, we took ownership of what was previously called Mikes Market and, on October 1st, 2016, gave the business a new name of Salt & Strings Butchery. We are both presently active in the day-to-day operations of the business and have a love for what we do. Our business is modeled after the old time butcher shops from the 1940’s and 50’s and we want to bring back that sense of relationship between butcher and customer, making a trip to our store more than just a trip to the store. The biggest difference, though, is the reason behind the name. We want our employees to feel like they are a part of something more than just a butcher shop business and that we, as owners, are at the same eye level as everyone else. We thought that naming the business after ourselves could potentially cause the team to feel as though they are under the shadow of our name instead of a valuable gear in the machine that is Salt & Strings.

THE MEAT

Our meat is cut daily. We have many typical cuts in our case but can almost always make speciality cuts when requested. We have an wide variety of bratwursts, gourmet burgers, sausages, summer sausages, and ground meats all custom and made in house!

We offer custom, call-ahead meat ordering or pre-priced meat bundles. Call our deli staff for information or email info@saltandstrings.com.
